As the lilies bloom is VR documentary experience where visitors dive deep into a painting based on Theodor Kittelsen’s Nøkken. An interactive voyage of discovery in a world rich with artistic detail and vibrant with beauty, mystery and darkness.
My tasks were to develop concept through material-based visualisations using Unity RT3DVE software shaders to create the textures and feeling of the original painting and develop immersive environment and experience from subjective position of the Nøkken, in order to engage participants with the artistic process of the painter.
Visual development – procedural textures testing, based on adaptation of painting/graphics to a 3D immersive environment drawing on own experience and formal training as a visual artist.
